Transfesa is currently the leading private freight railway operator in Spain, with the largest fleet of wagons with interchangeable axles in Europe, which allows it to circulate on the different gauges currently existing between the Iberian Peninsula and the rest of Europe.
Specialized in the management of integrated logistics chains, Transfesa carries out logistics operations using different transport modes. The railway continues to be is its main focus, currently representing two thirds of its activity.
Transfesa’s wagon fleet includes car-carriers, flatbed platforms and swap boxes, wagons for liquid gases, wagons for bulk, and closed wagons for general cargo.
For its shipments by rail, Transfesa has implemented a series of railway traffic corridors throughout Europe, through which approximately 578 wagons are transported on a daily basis.
Transfesa’s railway activity is divided into three Divisions: the Division of automobiles responsible for the transportation of finished vehicles, the Division of industrial logistics looking after the transportation of parts and components of automobiles and the Division of General Cargo carrying out the transport of chemical products, electrical appliances, cereals, and paper.
Each of the three divisions has a fleet of wagons that is specifically designed to cover the logistics requirements of its clients. Transfesa has the total fleet of 7,800 Wagons (equiv. to 2 axes).
