Annual Report
  Home > Logistics Platforms

Transfesa has a network of logistics platforms that can be classified into three categories: warehouses, intermodal terminals and vehicle logistics centres. The majority of these facilities are dedicated to the automobile sector, which is Transfesa’s main business.

Warehouses.

Transfesa has its own network of warehouses as well as subcontracted facilities. With a total of 50,000sqm, Transfesa’s own warehouses are located in the main logistics centres in Spain (i.e. Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Saragossa and Burgos).Warehouses in Madrid, Barcelona and Saragossa have their own railway siding.

Among the operations carried out by warehouses, the most important ones are the acceptance, consolidation, classification, and forwarding of JIT consignments for the automobile industry.

In Valencia, Transfesa has two facilities: one is for storage and the other one, in which Transfesa has a 25% participation, is responsible for the assembly of automobile modules. These modules are delivered directly to the production line with a conveyor belt that connects the facility with the vehicle production plant.

Transfesa’s network of logistics platforms also provides services to Transfesa Distribution Logistics, TDL, the group company responsible for transporting urgent parcels. TDL is a logistics operator specialized in “outsourcing” services from public administrations, corporations and industrial groups.

Specialised in urgent transport and parcels, both at the national and international level, TDL has developed several “turn-key” projects for its industrial clients, some of which are market leaders in their segments. TDL has uses advanced information systems for “on-line” tracking of each operation.
