In 2000 Transfesa created its own road transport division in order to complement already-established rail services with combined traffic services. Currently, the Group pursues its policy of expansion in the road business, not only as complementary to its rail operations, but also as an independent business. This expansion is particularly geared towards the new Members of the European Union in Eastern Europe.
Road transport supports different divisions of the Transfesa Group: industrial logistics (automobile parts and components), finished vehicles, chemicals, bulks, general cargo, and delivery services.
As part of some of the integrated supply services in the automobile sector, Transfesa carries out, in addition to the combined rail transportation, road shipments from origin to destination, thus guaranteeing supply at any moment required by client. in spite of fluctuations in the volumes of components.
Similarly, the Group complements its rail transportation of finished vehicles through its participation in the services of Capsa, a company based in Saragossa that has a strong presence in the national and international distribution of finished vehicles.
Currently Transfesa is active in Eastern European countries such as Poland, where we have acquired our own facilities at the border with Germany. This presence has helped to optimize the exploitation of our vehicles and JIT transport services to our clients in different countries.
